Cuban López will play for Sada Cruzeiro in 2020/21. Last season, he defended the UPCN, from Argentina, when he was champion of the Argentine Cup 2019 and vice-champion in South America 2020, when he was chosen as one of the best outside hitters. In Argentina, López also played for Gigantes del Sur for two seasons.

Miguel López is one of the most promising athletes in the Cuban national team. He has been in the grassroots categories since 2015, being under-21 world runner-up and under-23 bronze medalist in 2017. He was at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016. López was champion of the Pan American Cup and the NORCECA Cup in 2019, as well as runner-up of the Pan American Games in the same year.
