Lucão plays his second season for Sada Cruzeiro in 2023/24.

At the beginning of 2023/24, he became two-time Mineiro’s Champion (2023/24) with Sada Cruzeiro.

In 2022/23 he was champion of Mineiro, Supercopa, Copa Brasil, South America, in addition to bronze medal in the Club World Championship.

Before that he played for Vôlei Renata and also for Funvic Taubaté, Sesi-SP, Modena (Italy), RJX, Vôlei Futuro, Ulbra and Cimed. With the team from Santa Catarina, he won three of his six Superliga titles (2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10) and then won the national championship with RJX in 2012/13, and twice with the Taubaté team (2018/19 and 2020/21). With Taubaté he was also two-time Supercopa champion, in 2020 and 2021. He was South American champion with Cimed in 2008 and in 2012, with RJX. Lucão also has already won an Italian Championship, a Super Cup and an Italian Cup, in the 2015/2016 season, when he played for Modena.

In addition to the Olympic gold medal at Rio 2016 with the Brazilian team, Lucão also was silver medal at London 2012, won six editions of the World League (2006, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016 and 2017), was three-times champion of the Champions Cup (2009 , 2013 and 2017), was champion of the World Cup in 2010 and 2019. He also won the Nations League and the South American Championship in 2021, completing his fifth championship in America (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2021) .
