Everything is ready in Opole, Poland, for the Club World Championship to start. And for Sada Cruzeiro, it will start this Tuesday, Dec 12th, at 5:30pm, Brasilia time (8:30pm local time), when the blue team faces the Italian Lube Civitanova. SporTV will televise the game live to Brazil and FIVB official channel on Youtube will also show it worldwide. On Monday morning, Marcelo Mendez and captain Filipe attended a press conference with the other clubs, FIVB’s representatives and authorities.

“It is really nice to see the arena and think about the games that we are going to play here. Adrenaline takes over and it’s very cool. We will play our 6th Club World Championship and it seems as if it were the first one. We are very excited and determined to do our best. We are far away from home, in a different country, but I am sure that our fans in Brazil will follow every step and cheer for us”, said Filipe.

Three-time World Champion, having won the 2013, 2015 and 2016 editions, with the best results in the Brazilian volleyball history, Sada Cruzeiro now aims for their fourth title.

“We will face the Italian champion, a really strong team, as all the others in this tournament. For sure this is the hardest edition of the Club World Championship in many years; there are many teams with great chances to win. We will have to work really hard and be careful. Our team has practiced a lot over the last few days, working hard on our reception, block and attack. Each game will be like the final game in this championship”, said coach Marcelo Mendez.
