The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has announced the schedule for the 2024 Club World Championship. The last edition of the tournament was held in India, and this year it will take place for the first time in Uberlândia, Brazil, at the Sabiazinho Arena, from December 10 to 15. The host of the tournament is Praia Clube, the other Brazilian team in the competition.

Sada Cruzeiro is in Group B, alongside Italy’s Trentino, Argentina’s Ciudad Volley, and Iran’s Shahdab Yazd.

Group A consists of the host Praia Clube, Egypt’s Al Ahly, Italy’s Lube Civitanova, and another Iranian team, Foolad Sirjan.

In the preliminary round, the teams will face each other within their respective groups, and the best-ranked teams will advance to the final phase, with the semifinals and final being played in a single match.

Sada Cruzeiro, which won the championship in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2021, is aiming for its fifth title in the planet’s premier interclub competition.

The team’s debut will be on the first day of competition, Tuesday, December 10, against Argentina’s Ciudad Volley, at 8:30 PM. On Wednesday, the opponent will be Shahdab Yazd from Iran, also at 8:30 PM. On Thursday, Sada Cruzeiro will face the five-time World Champion Italian team, Trentino, at the same time.
