Sada Cruzeiro faces Zenit Kazan at the Club World Championship semifinals

Sada Cruzeiro travels to Krakow, Poland this Friday morning, Dec 15th where the team plays the finals for the Club World Championship.This Thursday night the Brazilian team defeated the Polish Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle by 3-0 in the city of Opole and got its ticket to the semifinals. The next challenge for the blue club is to face the Russian Zenit Kazan, that ended in the first place in group B. The decisive match happens next Saturday,16th, at 2:30pm (Brasília time), 5:30pm local time. In the group A semifinal, Lube Civitanova, the leader, and Skra Belchatow are fighting for the last place in the finale at 5:30pm (Brasília time).

The semifinal puts face to face two opponents that know each other very well. Sada Cruzeiro and Zenit Kazan decided the 2015 and 2016 Club World Championships in Betim, Brazil with two titles for the Brazilians. In 2013 when Sada Cruzeiro won its firstClub World Championship, the trophy came after a victory over another Russian team: Lokomotiv Novosibirsk.

Now Brazilians and Russians meet again, this time the combat is for a place in the final. “For sure this semifinal, with two great teams will be really tough. This tournament is very hard and there is no easy game. We need to get ready to face Kazan. The last two games we played, against the Iranian team and Zaksa, our team showed great improvement in all elements what made me really happy. Now we will take some rest, go to Krakow and get all our strength to the final stretch ”, said coach Marcelo Mendez.
