Sada Cruzeiro did not start the Club World Championship well. This Tuesday night, Dec 12th, in Opole, Poland, the Italian national champion Lube Civitanova played a high level volleyball and won 3-0 (25/21, 25/16, 25/18). Now, the Brazilian team focuses on the second match that happens on Wednesday at 5:30pm, Brasília time (8:30pm local time), against the Iranian Sarmaye Bank.

Sada Cruzeiro returns to the court this Wednesday, 5:30pm – FIVB

“We had a hard game today. We made too many mistakes, especially on serve and reception. And at such a high level game, it is too hard to play well without a perfect serve. This is a really complicated competition, with great teams and we knew that it would be really tough to face Civitanova in the very first game. We just did not do our best tonight. Now we have to think about the next match, take some rest tonight and focus on tomorrow’s battle. Today was definitely not a good day for our team”, said Filipe.

“First, I would like to congratulate Civitanova, as they played a great match. I believe that the main difference today was the serve. But tomorrow is another day and we will try to have a better performance. We need to pull together, focus on the next game, play well and fight hard to make it to the semifinals”, said coach Marcelo Mendez.
